- Jim Allen is a
self-taught photographer and has devoted most of his
working career to marketing various concepts and ideas.
For 30 years Jim has shared his lens with the likes of
super-models, prime ministers, corporate executives and
tastemakers. Jim's early career, in the apparel business,
resulted in much travel to visually rich cultures. The
streets of India stimulated Jim's interest in becoming a
photographer. When Jim decided to change careers, he
presented his work to a few local Toronto magazines and
the response was immediate. He would eventually become
one of Canada's most gifted photographers, working for
major corporations, retail outlets and magazines. Jim is
credited with winning more awards than any other
photographer in Canada
Current
projects include a photographic essay on 'Families and
Their Children' and a photographic/ecological study of
The Rooftops of The University of Toronto. He is also the
initiator of "Different Hats", a fund-raising book
affiliated with Sick Childrens Hospital Foundation in
Toronto.
